The AnswerThon falls only partially on Shabbat -- the competition begins at midnight between Friday and Saturday. It ends at midnight between Sunday and Monday though. WikiAnswers isn't discriminating against any particular religion but spread the competition over the weekend so as to ensure that EVERYONE will have at least 24 hours straight in which they can participate. If you're Jewish and want to participate, just wait until after Havdallah and get started...no one says you can't be a winner by answering questions in only 1/2 the time -- everyone has to take a break at some point.
The AnswerThon winners are usually announced on the AnswerThon Home Page within 10 days of closing the AnswerThon challenge.
Your AnswerThon user name is your Answers.com user name, by default. When you register for an AnswerThon, it automatically registers your Answers user name.More information can be found about the AnswerThon by going to the AnswerThon home page.
