The Articles of Confederation was our first country wide legislation. However, because we had just gained freedom from Great Britain, our nation was very scared of falling back into a monarchy. So, The Articles were very loose and weak.

The most important thing it taught us, was that to support our nation, our founding fathers had to set down a stronger set of actions which led to the Constitution we use today.
