Americans show an appropriate appreciation of freedom - the idea that the government is not empowered to control every aspect of the individual's life. The Bill of Rights and subsequent amendments are the legal codification of that freedom.
The constitution lacked a Bill of Rights to protect individual freedoms so antifederalists were afraid their freedom would be taken away. The Americans wanted their rights protected and they wanted a Bill Of Rights to ensure it was protected
== == Yes Chalers Cotesworth Pinckney was in favor of the Bill of Rights. So was alot of other framers.
There is no such thing as "The English Bill of Rights". Are you referring to "Magna Carta" if so please ask the correct question.
No not all Americans have civil rights. People today find a way to get around the constition, but in doing so they brake the law and the meaning of the bill of rights. The bill of rights was added to the constition because the citizens were afraid of there freedoms being taken away, but the using bill of rights as anarguement in court now a days in loosing its power. and people are loosing there rights that were promised to them in that document.
I find it great for it gave Americans free speech so to whoever wrote the original answer, think about it (if you live in the U.S) if we didn't have the Bill of Rights we might be a communist country.
I was important to add the bill of rights to the constitution because if we did not we would not have our rights protected a citizens of the united states of america.
The Bill of Rights is important so people know what rights they have.
The Amendments contained in the Bill of Rights make up a huge percentage of the values that this country was founded on. The Bill of Rights was, at the time, what set us apart from England, and for that matter, every other established country. It was a very radical move back then.
Because Americans have always like the idea of a limited government that is not allowed to encroach on our basic rights
The federalists were supporters of the Constitution and wanted to make it official- but the anti Feds wanted more protection of their individual rights so they wanted a Bill of Rights added- and so they compromised and they added a bill of rights to the constitution. These rights now protect all Americans and their basic librerties. :) ur welcome
The English Bill of Rights was before the Enlightenment so they are given as part of the English Bill of Rights.
the US Bill of Rights is for everyone but the State of Michigan's Bill of Rights only counts in Michigan. So i you went other places your rights would be different except for the rights in the US bill of rights.
