they are strong because stability means that you are not willing to give away any of your electrons. so if you're stable, that means that you are very strong. on the other hand, that does not mean that something stable is a strong acid/base, but it would be weak because weak bases and acids are the ones that are not willing to give any of their electrons.

No open bonds because hydrogen can only have 1 bond because of it only having 1 valence electron

While foming such a bond a lot of heat energy is given out. Now to break the bond same amount of energy is needed. Hence the bond becomes so stable.

This is attributed to the strength of the attraction between ions. The electrostatic force of attraction between ions is very strong because 2 oppositely charged ions will definitely want to bond with each other. Thus, they do not want to be broken apart and hence it takes a lot of energy to break the bonds between 2 ions.
