This is usually due to a blockage in one of the AC lines. In most cases the remedy would be to take it to a shop, where an EVAC and recharge of the system will be done.
It is possible for hot air to be coming out of the driver's side and cold on the passenger's side if there is a dual temperature control on the heater/AC unit. Try adjusting the temperature controls to see if that fixes the problem.
passenger side temp acuator has gone bad
Temp blend door actuator is bad on the passenger side assuming you want both sides to blow cold air.
There is a differential vane in the AC ductwork that regulates the flow of hot and cold air into the two halves (driver/passenger) of the system. Failure of this mechanism is one of the more notorious problems with the LS.
My 1998 Intrigue did the same thing after battery was replaced. Found the answer online. Turn the AC and car off, disconnect the battery, wait 5 minutes, open both front doors, reconnect the battery, start car, turn on the AC full cold. This resets the computer and the AC works perfectly!
That sounds like a blend door problem.
I had a similar problem. Looked up on line and someone posted: 1. Turn the car to "on" but don't start 2. Press the OFF button on the heater two times 3. Turn ignition OFF - wait 30 seconds 4. Turn ignition ON - but don't start 5. Wait 3 - minutes then start vehicle... Good Luck.. Hope this will reset the computer...
As the coolant ravels from driver side to passenger side of the radiator, it should cool down.
The difference between a cold and a bus driver is a bus driver has a course to run and a cold has to run its course.
A broken blend air door is the most likely cause on a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
heater control valve is bad on the drivers side.
Could the heater door actuator be bad? What is the cost to replace? This Grand Prix has a dual-zone climate control and when the AC is on, the passenger side vents often change to heat when the control is still on cold.
