Sounds to me like the fuseable link is burned. This is wire runs to the starter post, the same one the battery + terminal goes.
Make sure the wires actually lead to the batt and be sure its got a good ground
altenator
Frist disconnect negative battery
Battery light usually means alternator not charging. Most common solutions would be be a bad alternator, bad connection, or loose alternator belt. If the battery and alt test ok than check the connections to the alt. You may also have a battery drain (something that is staying on and killing the battery)
The alternator on a Hyundai 2.7 liter engine requires removal of the plastic covers on the passenger side and the vehicle to be lifted. After securing the car remove the plastic cover in the wheel well. Disconnect the battery. Locate the alternator and remove the bolts holding it to the engine as well as all the wire connections.
Have you measured the voltage across the battery with the engine running? It should measure approximately 14v. If not you want to replace your alternator/voltage regulator. Check your shop manual to see if you can open the alternator and replace the brushes. After so many miles the brushes wear down, this is the most frequent cause of alternator failure. there is a fusable link in the line between the battery and the alternator i replaced the battery and alt. but still wouldn't charge track the wire
* Disconnect the negative battery cable. If the vehicle is equipped with a delco loc 2 or theftlock audio system make sure to have the activation code before disconnecting the battery. * Remove the drivebelt * Label and detach the wires from the backside of the alternator * Remove the mounting bolts and separate the alternator from the engine
You might check to see if your vehicle has an external voltage regulator. Some voltage regulators are in the alternator, some are not. Another simple solution might be to check your fuse panel for a blown fuse, and make sure all the wires are tight at the connections.
It depends. The 2.2 and 2.3 liter models (S, Si, SE) share a particular alternator. The 2.2 liter VTEC model uses a different model alternator.
Check out the related links section for a video on how to instal a Ford F150 Triton 4.6 liter alternator.
The engine computer is also the alternator regulator.
disconnect positive cable on battery, remove top bolt that goes thru bracket on alternater and push alternator and remove belt.remove bottom bolt ,but first remove wires from alt. and remember where they go,after bottom bolt is removed, then pull alt. out.
