This species is threatened due to its rarity and because of the decline in its habitat quality. Population estimate it believed to be between 200 and 2000. The status of this species has not been reassessed since the discovery of the Myanmar population, and the Thailand and its habitat are legally protected.

The main reason that many the bumblebee bats are becoming extinct is due to their loss of habit. Caves where some bats live or hibernate are blocked or destroyed. This can also take away their food supply.

It is important for a bat that is hibernating to not be disturbed throughout its winter sleep. This can cause them to lose energy and not make it through the winter.

Although the bats may be locally common it has a very restricted distribution and is therefore vulnerable to a range of threats. Some populations decline following tourist distribution of certain roost sites throughout the 1970s, collection for scientific purpose and the sale of bats as tourist souvenirs. Todays, the main threat to the Thai population comes from the annual burning of forest areas near the caves. The threat to the Myanmar population is currently unknown.

There is a terrible disease carried by the Varroa mites called the American Foulbrood that kills these bees. They say if the disease keeps on going on and no one finds a cure, the bees will be extinct at 2030. Luckily, the cyborgnetic scientists are finding a way to create robot bees that will do the same jobs and will have the same characteristics as these real bees. They will sting, they will pollinate flowers, they will build nests, and they will feed their queen. Remember, the cure has not been yet invented.

Because "Bees" do not like to be bothered when are in the hive or other such areas. They can get aggressive when they are threatened by something.

I.E: Rock being thrown at at there Hive

Messing With habitat

Or even When they smell your fear

But they feel threatened by when you fear of them when you don't need to fear... the bees won't harm you, if you dint harm them.
