In the book "Life of Pi" a guy named Pi Patel, gets trapped in a life boat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. His only companion is a bangal tiger named Richard. The reason it is called "Life of Pi" is because it is about pi's life.

Also becasue Piscine Molitor Patel was named after a swimming pool. soon after starting school people would not say his name right so he shortened it to pi.

The book is called "Life of Pi" because it follows the extraordinary journey of a young boy named Pi as he navigates the challenges of surviving at sea with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. The title symbolizes Pi's struggle to find meaning, purpose, and the will to survive in a seemingly hostile and chaotic world.
