18HP stock. The Raptor has around 23 because of better carb etc.
it is the carb. my uncles did the same thing. you need to have them cleaned and have them put in sync
adjust your idle screw on the side of the carb its the one with the spring on it. if that doesnt help then take the carb apart and clean it to make sure theres no dirt in it.

Raptor 50's are a youth atv. The factory has a throttle stop screw at the throttle lever. There is also changes to the throttle arm and carb slide that prevents attaining full throttle. Lastly the stock CDI box has a rev limiter.
I don't believe there is one. I have a Raptor 80 and there isn't an external filter. I think there may be a screen stand pipe in the tank that is connected to the fuel shut-off valve. I'm really not sure as I haven't disassembled that particular unit. However, if you are wanting to install one, I'd just replace the fuel line to the carb with a neoprene line and install an in-line filter between the carb and the shutoff valve.
you need to adjust thecarburetor it will tell how in the owners manual. Also the adjustment for the idle is a gold colored knob that sticks out on the left side of the atv(clutch side),Idle mixture screw is in the middle of the carb under the intake side of the carb(hard to get to)(venturi)side
I have an LRD pipe that carb was jetted for on my 2001 Raptor 660. I have seen 65-70 mph on State Hwy 360. I had to get to another part of a course and the only way that was accessible was about a half mile down the hwy. I opened her up and was keeping up with traffic @ 65 and still had a lil throttle.
Remove the carb and take the bowl off the bottom. Remove the jets and soak in carb cleaner. Make sure you can see daylight through them.
Better known as a Flat-Slide carb. Some carbs have a butterfly throttle plate that opens and closes controlling the amount of air entering the engine. Others employ a round cylindrical (round slide) slide that does the same thing except it slides up and down instead of twisting open and closed. All high performance engines utilize a Flat-Slide in the carb that also slides up and down but the forces against the slide with all that extra air rushing through the carb , the slide resists sticking open or closed during operation.
wow
