You should just have to reset the system. You might also want to make sure that the battery and alternator are both working properly. The alternator especially could be defective. Most are rebuilt and sometimes not done that well. Just have someone with a tester check the system. If all this is fine it it an electrical problem, it could even be due to one of the recalls. Make sure that all the recalls are fixed. It cost nothing but time. Just go to Ford'd website and put your vin to check to see if you have any open recalls. There are at least two that I know you van has.
alternator needs to be replaced. battery also might be a problem due to the alternator not charging it
alternator is not charging battery, or loose - corroded connection on battery cables
Alternator is not charging. Have it tested and/or replaced.
I would have the alternator tested. If the alternator is over charging the battery then it is just cooking it.
Your belt is correctly tensioned?

alternator. go to a parts store and have them test the charging system. must will do that for free
check the alternator. Use a digital multimeter and with engine running you should have 13-14 volts at the battery. If less than 12.5 Alternator is not charging Also check the amperage the alternator is putting out.
It means something is wrong with your charging system. Can be a loose of corroded battery cable, defective alternator or a battery with a dead short.
Could be a bad signal sent by the computer or the alternator is not charging to full capacity. Have someone check the charging amps on the alternator.
The battery light can come on due to a low charging voltage. Check the alternator for full output, and make sure that the alternator belt is not slipping.
This is not a battery problem. Your charging system, the alternator, is not putting out enough juice to charge the battery until you reach 4000 rpm. Have the alternator and charging system checked.
