Why is the death of six million Jews during World War 2 talked about more than the 25 million Russians who were killed?

Religion was not the inspiration of the Nazis.

Racial identity and so called racial purity based on an ideological mythology, created from a number of romanticized occult and new age neo-Pagan sources.

"Aryans" who converted and practiced Judaism were not interred in concentration camps...they were Aryan...on the other hand...their Jewish spouses and children were interred in concentration camps.

Race...not religion, was the inspiration...just as it was with the Japanese, who deemed themselves racially superior to Chinese and other Asians.

In the mind of the Nazis, Jews were considered a separate race, and racially impure and worthy of nothing but death.

Religion was only nominally part of the equation...and only for those Germans who maintained their Christian identity.

For Christians, their anti-Semitic genocide was inspired by replacement theology (taken up by Nazis).

Granted there is a great gap between the numbers of peoples that were killed. We also do not hear about the Chinese that the Japanese slaughtered. Without getting into the conspiracies I will try to offer a simple answer. "I think".

Countries are groups of people linked by nationality. They may be of all different religions or cultures. The Germans went after all Jews regardless of nationalities. So it was just the religious identity they went after.

Religion is always a hotly debated topic. The Russians were killed indiscriminately. The Jews on the other hand were killed because of their religious background. Also, history is written by the victors. As we all know, the Axis lost and the Allies won. Russia was part of the Allied forces in WWII and so their contributions to the war effort are mentioned. We don't like to think that we were on the same side with the people who killed more than 4 times the number of people that Hitler is responsible for. That makes us look almost as bad. We also don't frequently discuss the pact that the Russians had with Nazi Germany before Nazi forces invaded.

The reason is simple...genocide, ethnic cleansing, and in the case of the Jews, not just from Germany and Europe, but from the world entirely.

Why Jewish deaths are spoken of more than others is...That the Nazi concentration camps and genocidal bloodlust against the Jews, was the culmination of at least 1500 years of European cultural, social, and religious Antisemitism, that ended in an organized systematic political attempt at the total extermination and eradication of the Jewish people, in Europe first, but ultimately the entire world.

The purpose of the Nazis was to eradicate the Jews, from wherever they were.

To ethnically cleanse Jews, from Germany and Europe first, but then from the rest of the world, and the Nazis had no shortage of cohorts in their pathological endeavor, even including the Grand Mufti (the Cheif Muslim Cleric, Amin al-Husseini) of Jerusalem, who organized 66,000 Muslim Bosnians, for Hitler's Waffen SS.

The Nazi hatred of the Jews was so pathological that they and their cohorts were still rounding up and murdering Jews, even as the Allies rolled into Berlin, Hitler killed himself and the war was clearly over.

Hitler saw his mission (of eradicating the Jews) as divinely ordained, cleansing the "so called" Aryan race (a concept that did not exist until German New Age occult romance racist created it), and "Aryan" lands of racial impurities.

All races were judged based on subjective mythical occult view as to which groups were more or less supposedly "Aryan" (ie racially pure Germanic), a perversion of the East Indian/Sanskrit concept of "Arya," a designation which is based on religious and cultural ideas.

Many Slavs (including Russians - both Czarist Russia and the U.S.S.R., were a multi-national people, not just ethnic Russ), according to the Nazis, were less Aryan than say the English, French and Americans, who were seen as primarily Anglo-Saxon, but they still had Aryan blood. And to the Nazis, the Slavs were brain washed into fighting against their own self interest, and just needed to be subdued...and then they could be "Aryanized," ie individually Germanized based on the Nazi "systematic" "Scientific" racial measurements...had the Slavs submitted to the Nazis, they would not have been killed.

For the Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, and those born mentally and physically handicapped, there was no option or choice, they were seen as having no racial value, and only one end was in store for them...extermination...or as they would have said...euthanasia, either way it's the same thing.

In the same way the Turks murdered the Armenians, and the Hutu murdered the Tutusis, the intent was to exterminate and eliminate the Jew, not subdue them, but to ethnically cleanse them.

YES, we should never, ever, forget all the other people the Nazis blood thirstily and brutally murdered, but understand there was a clear difference between why the Jews were murdered, and why the rest were murdered, one was a matter of ambition, the other was a matter of design.
