You have partially offended many of us Englishmen (I joke) , but nevertheless I shall tell you. The reason the diamond jubilee is so important is because it celebrates the fact that our monarch, the Queen of Great Britain has been on the throne for 60 years. It is a huge celebration and we also celebrate how proud we are to be British! Also 60 years is a huge landmark, notice the "diamond" label, and few other monarchs have survived this long. Long live the Queen!
