The grill time per side for a thick steak will depend on how well done an individual wants their steak. For well done steaks that are 1 1/2" thick cook the first side 10 minutes, flip and cook the other side for additional eight minutes.
You want to cook it the same amount of time that you do on the other side. Hope this helps!! (:
Ingredients1 1/2 c Flour1 tb Sugar1/2 ts Salt2 1/4 ts Baking powder1/2 c Buttermilk2/3 c Milk1 Egg beaten2 tb Cooking oilOil for pan 1/2 c Milk as needed forthinningSIFT TOGETHER THE FLOUR, sugar, salt and baking powder. Beat together the buttermilk, milk, beaten egg and oil. Pour the liquid into the dry ingredients and stir until well mixed. A few small lumps in the mixture will cook out. The first pancake is a test pancake. The batter should be thin for pancakes, so thin the batter if necessary with milk (not buttermilk). The pan should be lightly oiled and hot enough to make a sprinkling of water dance, not just sit and sizzle. Ladle about 1/8 cup of the batter into the hot pan. When the top of the pancake is full of bubbles and the bottom is golden, turn the pancake. Cook on the second side until done.
You want to make sure that the pancake is entirely cooked on its one side so that it won't stick. To make it actually leave the pan and flip in the air, you need to lift the pan off the burner and jerk it away and then up and towards you. The pancake will flip in air, and then just catch it uncooked side down. voila!
