Think "racism." It's mostly fear, ignorance, and simple lack of knowledge. It's mostly the "Bully breeds" you hear about attacking people. For example, their temperament is actually 6 points lower than Spaniels and one of the service dogs on September 11th was a Pit. Not too many people know that because all they think of is 'that dog is going to bite me!'
