Tis has been demonstrated in the American west where wolves were eliminated. Elk and deer populations grew destroying trees and ecology. This impacted birds and area water ways. In general the local ecology and sustainability went into the dumper.

The red wolf is an enigma and may not actually be a species of wolf but a hybrid between the gray wolf and the coyote. More study needs to be done. For now it is considered a subspecies of the gray wolf - Canis lupus rufus.

When the red wolf becomes extinct it;s prey like deer, rabait and other animals will increase in population wolves are smart animals and only hunt sick deer and other large prey.In 1995 scientist only found 7 true red wolves in the wild. But they have been re-interduced in the wild.Cyoties breed with red wolves and create hybrid wolves but they are not true red wolves.Like I said before you take the red wolf away there will be more old and sick deer around deer poupulations will increase by a land slide and Man again will destroy deer. You can not take the red wolf away from the enviorment without hurting it.

The prey population will become unbalanced and disease would spread among animal populations. This would occur since wolves control both population and sickness by killing and eating the excess and diseased prey.

Not only would we suffer another extinction of a species that is beautiful and unique, but circumstances would develop that happen anytime the food chain is interrupted. The removal of (a predator) the fox, from the food chain leaves a gap that allows all the prey animals normally eaten by the fox to have an unchecked period of growth. This in turn, has a domino effect on the plants they eat. This can lead to other die offs, of those prey animals, and the plants they have been consuming. Depending on the region and habitat, the fox might be replaced by another predator species. But usually another species doesn't eat the identical diet, leaving something out of balance. All species depend on one another to some degree to maintain a balanced ecosystem and survive, remove one and it throws the balance off. Right now the Red Fox is listed as "least concern" with a "population trend of stable" by the IUCN Red List. Hopefully, this will not be an issue anywhere in the near future for the Red Fox.
