Best Answer

The sun is small compared to only a few stars, like Antares or Betelgeuse. Our sun is larger than all the rest of the matter in our solar system, by a factor of 1000.

In other words, if you combined Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and all the rest of the material in the solar system, the sun would still be a thousand times bigger. These rough figures might give another perspective: The diameter of the sun is about 860 or 870 thousand miles across, nearly a million miles. The moon is about 240 thousand miles from earth. The distance between the earth and the moon would stretch across the sun more than three times. That's not small.
