Why is the taco important in Mexico?

Tacos are one of many traditional dishes found in Mexico. It however, is one of the oldest, as tacos were first invented by Olmecs almost 3500 years ago, when they domesticated corn and created tortillas to wrap (and eat) their meals, which also included avocados, beans and game found throughout southwestern Mexico.
