If you are referring to the coolant level sensor, it is mounted on the radiator tank, on the passenger side, near the battery. If you are referring to the coolant temperature sensor, it is located near the thermostat housing, just in front of the throttle body.In either case, you should see a connector and wires going to the sensor.Good Luck, Greg
Hi,The coolant temperature sensor is location very close to the thermostat itself, but that is hard to find or get to also. If you follow the top radiator hose back to the engine, you will see where the thermostat housing is, very close to the throttle body. There sensor is just forward of the thermostat housing.I have included a link to a page with shows where to the bleed valves are located, and the bleed valve that is close to the thermostat is also very near the coolant temperature sensor. In on of the pictures you can see the wiring at the top of the sensor. It is a tight fit, but you can get in there.Good Luck, GregP.S. The pictures in the link show a 2001 Venture, but the engines in these two different years are identical and the locations are the same.
don't remove the throttle body. just the exhaust pipe, the air inlet tube and the heat shield.
The Thermostat on a 2000 Chevy Venture is located on the drivers side of the engine, it is mounted under the throttle-body of the fuel-air intake, u can follow the hose up to it, I have changed mine two time, although the throttle-body must be removed to access the Thermostat, and there are only three screws holding the thermostat housing on, it is somewhat hard to get at and I suggest that only someone who is familiar with working on cars try it.
on the right side of the motor The thermostat is beneath the throttle body & behind the exhaust crossover pipe. It's a ridiculously big job considering it's only a thermostat you're trying to replace
I replaced a 2003 Chevy Venture thermostat once before. It is buried on the top right side of the engine under the throttle assembly. You can see the thermostat cover by following the 2 inch black tube from the top of the radiator to it. It is easy to replace one you remove the throttle assembly which is very difficult to do, especially if you are not familiar with engine repairs. This is not a four screws and your done job. Take it to a mechanic if you are unsure. Luckily, I had a mechanic who helped me when I did it!
Look for a brass object with a two wire connector screwed into the intake near the thermostat housing.
Trace the top rad. hose back to the block. It is right inside there. You will have to remove the throttle body to gain access to the space there.
Usually in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose. Yes, it is located in a housing under the throttle body.
Hi, The thermostat is located on the driver side of the engine, just below and in front of the throttle body. These are a real pain to change because of the extra parts that have to be removed to get to the thermostat housing. I have included a link that shows actual pictures of the location.
The thermostat is located under the thermostat housing, very near the throttle body, on the driver (left) side of the engine. Just follow the upper radiator hose and it will take you right there, but these things are a real pain to change. Good luck
Hi,If you are looking for the thermostat for the cooling system, it is located very close to the throttle body assembly. There are some pictures of the general area at the link I have provided. These pictures show where the bleed valves are located, and if you follow the radiator hose near the throttle body, you will find the thermostat housing. The thermostat is kind of a pain to change on these particular vehicles because of the tight space involved.Good Luck, Greg
