It sounds like the bar isn't long enough to accommodate for swelling so the ball is embeding. Go back to your piercer as soon as possible or the ball could be engulfed.

How can you numb your tongue before piercing?

If you are using the correct type of piercing equipment, you should not have to numb your tongue at all. Numbing the area before piercing could affect the healing process, and leave more opportunity to become infected. It is best to get a piercing done professionally, but if you are piercing at home, be sure to use the right sterile needles and tools. There should be little to no pain, making numbing unnecessary.

What happens if you dont pierce your nose all the way?

Uhhmmm, why wouldn't you pierce your nose all the way in the first place?! and if you don't put a ring in it will just close up. Self done piercings always result in issues with healing, improper placement and possible infections. Leave piercing to a professional body piercer who will place it correctly and provide you with aftercare instructions and post piercing support. Piercing yourself is just making a mess out of an area that will cause issues for a professional piercer down the road and be more painful when it is pierced correctly. Give your head a shake and quit messing up your body by doing it yourself.

Can you shatter your cartilage when you get a new piercing?

Because the studs used in ear piercing guns are not nearly as sharp as a piercing needle the impact of these in ear cartilage can and usually does cause tiny "micro-cracks" to radiate out in all directions from the opening. This can cause an abnormal amount of swelling which can completely engulf the earring and then you have a real problem. It will usually also mean delayed healing or extended healing time, much more pain & discomfort for you, and in some cases the swelling never goes away. A piercing needle slides through the cartilage with little trauma making a perfectly round hole with no jagged edges or cracks. Having your cartilage piercing done with a needle will mean much less discomfort and faster healing time.

Is it safe to take a belly button piercing out one month after done?

Yes you can take the jewellery out but more over why? If it's healing fine and you have no issues your should just leave the jewellery alone and don't mess with it let it heal. The piercing will more than likely close up quickly making the reinsertion of the jewellery difficult and requiring the assistance of a body piercer to get the jewellery back in without causing bleeding or piercing damage. I can never understand why people spent the money to get a piercing then 30 days later the want to take it out for no real reason other than to mess around with the piercing and risk causing and infection or further delay the healing time.

Is getting your ears pierced permanent damage?

Any time you pierce any part of the body you are making a change that can't be reverted, however it's not considered damage, so long as the piercing heals correctly.

What happens if you take your earrings out before you can?

Your piercing is an open wound. If you don't keep something in it to keep it from healing then it will close up and you will have to get another piercing. Even after they've healed your skin is constantly making new skin cells, so if you leave your earrings out for a couple of months your skin will fill up the hole with new skin cells and it will close up again.

Will sweat irritate a navel piercing?

Not really. It the excercise/motion that's making you sweat that will irritate the piercing. Especially if it's new.

Dangers of piercing your own cartilage?

Well let's look at that closely in point form. # You know nothing about human anatomy or the structures of the ear. # You don't have the knowledge to do the piercing without making a bloody mess. # You don't posses the materials needed to do the piercing correctly I am not going to go into all the things that can go wrong and there is quite a list. I am counting on you having enough common sense to realize that you are not a trained professional body piercer with the experience and knowledge to provide the service in a safe manner. So that being said, you will grab the phone book and call a body piercing studio near you and book an appointment to get the piercing done correctly the first time. Wikianswers is not a venue to provide how to information that can lead to serious personal injury. See a Professional body piercer.

What is a bar piercing?

First let us define what is body piercing, body piercing is creating an opening in the human body in which a jewelry may be worn in that hole, it is simply defined as the practice of puncturing or cutting a human body. It may sound so simple yet it sounds so painful right? Imagine cutting or making a hole in your body, doesn't that hurt? Now let us discuss a more specific kind of body piercing, the industrial bar piercing. What is this all about? Basically any two piercing holes that are connected with an extra long barbell is called the cartilage piercing of the ear or industrial piercing. There is actually a standard in industrial, the two helix peircings. Helix is the folded rim of skin and cartilage around most of the outer ear. It is the rounded and hard part of our ear. But, industrials can be a wide range of connected piercings. Industrial piercing in North America, sometimes called as scaffold piercing in UK and IRL or construction piercing is, like what we have said earlier, any two pierced holes connected with a single straight piece of jewelry. For further explanation, however, it typically refers to a double perforation of the upper ear cartilage. Two peircings are made, one of which is in the anti-helix piercing, located fairly close to the head. The second one is located further down the cartilage on the opposite side of the ear and is called the helix piercing. From behind the ear a straight barbell is inserted trough the first piercing then travels diagonally across the front of the upper cartilage. After it goes through the second piercing, it is secured with a screw-on bead behind the second hole. Because you created a hole in the human body more especially in the ear cartilage, it will be needing more time to heal. Healing process is no joke because it is typically being healed in three months and can last for a year until it is fully healed. The danger of course is that during the process of piercing and in the healing period, it is prone to infection. The barbell jewelry is worn during the healing period; it is usually 14g and is made with a sterile hollow piercing needle. Captive bead rings aka CBRs are sometimes used instead of the barbell itself and are exchanged with the barbell after the healing is complete. The use of these CBRs results in faster healing but this technique may cause improper alignment of the piercings when exchange after the healing. A flexible plastic tub can also be used and swapped for a metal bar when it is healed Two or more industrial piercing on one ear creates four or more holes. Hence, it is often called a cage.
