Why is the top radiator hose hot and the bottom is cool you just changed a leaking water pump?
Ok. I am having this problem too. I was told that I need to replace the thermostat. If you have already done this then there is one other thing that I can think of to do. On the radiator there should be some kind of release for air. This needs to be opened when you fill the radiator. If you need more info you can email me at email@example.com
What can you use to help insure a tight seal on your radiator hose replacement when you just changed the hose and still have a drip?
If it's leaking at the radiator, make sure you haven't accidentally bent the fitting. Sometimes a brass fitting can be accidentally bent and you'll never get it to seal until it's round and cleaned up. If it's leaking at the block or water pump, make sure it's clean and there are no large corrosion pits. If everything looks good at those locations, check for leaks elsewhere. The radiator could be leaking where the hose connects…
Your 1997 ford is over heating it is leaking from the radiator cap on the resavor what could be causing this problem i have tried everything?
From easiest to hardest: Does radiator have enough coolant? Is the fan working? Could be a bad thermostat. Water pump (there is a small hole in the bottom of the water pump. If there is water dripping out of the "weep" hole, then the water pump is bad). Could be a blown head gasket. (Is there any water in the oil or does the coolant in the radiator have a fuel smell?
You have antifreeze leaking around the water outlet of a 95 2.3L achieva what does the water outlet do?
The water outlet, also called a petcock is located near the lowest point in the cooling system and is used to drain coolant from the engine. The petcock typically has wings, which are designed for better grip when turning the valve. If coolant is leaking from this point, it may be the petcock is partially opened and might need only to be closed completely to stop the leaking. The petcock is press-fitted into the bottom…
What can cause a radiator on a 94 ford aerostar 3.0 to keep popping a seal and leaking next to the bottom hose new radiator hoses not overheating?
i had a similar problem on a 97 ford taurus, not overheating but it would boil out the resivior, changed the theromstat, no help, took of the water pump and the impeller was rusted, almost gone, replaced it and it works good, also before changing it, the antifreeze was rust colored. hope this helps.
How do you know if a water pump is bad on a 92 geo storm I put a new thermostat in now the head gasket may be leaking steam and I think water is pouring out of the water pump heater wont get warm?
the steam may be water evaporating from leak when engine is hot.if water pump is leaking it needs replacing the steam may also be leaking from bad installation of thermostat easiest way to see if pump is working is to remove radiator cap when engine is at running temp. look in radiator and see if coolant is moving when you rev the engine there is very little visable movement at idle. but bottom line if…
An easy way to flush a radiator is to remove the bottom hose from the radiator, and put a garden hose in the top fill hole, turn the water on, on the garden hose and let the water push the water out of the radiator. Do not start the truck. This is for flushing a radiator, not an engine. Dont forget to reattatch the bottom hose and refill the radiator as water will also flow…
Why your car is leaking antifreeze from the driver side it look that is leaking under the hose that runs from the radiator to the engine but it is not the hose would your engine be crack?
First, you must find out WHERE it's leaking. If it's a radiator hose or heater hose, replace the hose. If it's a water pump leak, replace the water pump. If it's a leaking radiator, take it to a radiator shop and have the radiator replaced or repaired. If it's a freeze plug, head gasket or other leak, you'll need more serious repairs.
