It depends on if you're talking about the background of your desktop or the background of a running program. FOR DESKTOP. Rightclick desktop, properties, desktop, make background picture None and change the color to black. FOR PROGRAMS. Rightclick desktop, properties appearance, advanced, window, then change that to black and the font color to something like white or whatever, something you can see on top of black.
If your computer screen goes black, the first thing to try is to turn your computer off, and then turn it on again. This allows the computer to re-boot.
If you just logged on, you will see a welcome screen, and possibly your desktop and icons.
so do i but I'm not crying like you

Text below icons on my desktop have a black framework. It really makes me angry, how to get rid of it. And when my computer turns on, icons appear but the background is black, and after 5 secs, the picture background appears, and text below icons on desktop have black framework. When I click refresh black and white colours appear around my desktop icons in that moment during the refresh process and my desktop background turns black again, but only during the refresh process (less than half a second) and then, background picture appears again. Sorry for my english, but if you understand please help... I'll appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
If its the monitor you are talking about then just press the "auto adjust" button, on the side of the monitor.
