Although we may live in highly artificial environments that are removed from the world of nature and the ecological systems of the natural world, we remain part of the overall global ecology, and ecological issues do affect us, and are going to affect us to an increasing degree as global conditions become more extreme. Governments must deal with ecological problems, and governments depend upon guidance from voters, and voters need to be well informed in order to vote intelligently.
