There should be no such wire. Are you sure you aren't mistaking the tether (string) for a wire?
There is a wire because you can open the gas cap through the trunk if the electrical one fails, which happened to me. You need to look for it but it's there on the side of the gas cap. Does anyone happen to know where to get the electrical unit that opens the fuel cap???
On a 2000 Lincoln LS : The thread on cap on the engine coolant reservoir is the pressure cap / radiator cap * the engine coolant reservoir is in the engine compartment , on the drivers side of the engine compartment , next to the firewall , you can see the cap through a hole in the " trim "
The thread on cap on your engine coolant reservoir is the pressure cap ( radiator cap )
On a 2000 Lincoln Continental : The engine coolant reservoir is in the engine compartment . It is on the PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT and has a thread on cap on the top of the tank ( which is the pressure cap / radiator cap )
On a 2000 Lincoln LS : Both the 3.0 liter V6 and the 3.9 V8 engines have the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system so there is no distributor / distributor cap
tach signal wire is a blue wire with a black cap that ends on the top of the strut tower near the firewall...done
If I am correct, I believe this vehicle is DIS(distributorless ignition system) thereby not having a cap and rotor.
The engine oil filler cap on a 2000 Lincoln Ls is : ( V6 ) drivers side of engine , near the front of the engine , on the top of the engine cover ( V8 ) drivers side of engine , near the rear of the engine , on an extension tube
Get The New One First. Remove The Cap From The Truck. Do Not Remove Wires Before Removing Cap. Unless You Install Them In New Cap Matching Together Making Sure They Are Positioned The Same. Locate a Clamp Or Indention On The New Cap That Matches The Old One. Start at This Point Remove The Wire From The Old Cap Put It Into The Same Place on the new one. Then Just Work Around Clockwise Removing The Next Wire In Order As You Removed The First. Then Install Coil Wire. HOPE YOU DON~T GET CONFUESSED. ++TAKE YOU TIME ALSO++
There is no transmission cap, it's a sealed transmission. Any servicing would have to be done at either a Lincoln, Ford, and some Jag dealerships. There is no transmission cap, it's a sealed transmission. Any servicing would have to be done at either a Lincoln, Ford, and some Jag dealerships.
It should be marked on your distributor cap. Just find the wire next to the one and follow it to the cylinder.
As of July 2014, the market cap for Encore Wire Corporation (WIRE) is $1,021,612,112.64.
Look close, the original cap or a good replacement cap is marked as to which wire goes where. The number one on that flat type cap is the middle one on the drivers side.
