I am having the same problem and everyone says it the valve cover gaskets need to be done
oil leaking on your spark plugs in your Lincoln LS because you have a leaking valve cover gasket.
no !
because your valve cover seals are bad... fix it before you will get issues with coil packs... and change the spark plugs while at it...
There's 4 on each side of the motor. You should see a long cover on each Sid of the motor. Remove the cap and the coils are the 4 screwed-in pieces you see. The coils are on the spark plugs.... If you replace the spark plugs and there's oil inside of the plugs and coils, you'll need to replace the plugs, coils, and the valve cover gasket.. I think this is an issue on every 2000 Lincoln LS.
it is leaking from the valve cover gasket. when the car sit long enough, the oil will leak down to the plugs.
?
No, but burning oil will give you bad spark plugs.
No there should not be any oil where you plug your spark plugs into
You need to have your vavlve cover gasket checked! That may be the cause of oil being on your spark plugs! You need to have your vavlve cover gasket checked! If you mean in the valleys when you look down and there is oil around the spark plugs then it's the o rings in the valve covers that need replacing. Removing the passenger cover isn't too bad but the driver's side is a pain.
Easy fix, remove the spark plugs dry everything off. Then go to autozone and get a new valve cover gasket and replace it. This will solve the problem. By the way replace the 4 spark plugs at this time save you having to do it at some other time.
Most likely the valve cover gaskets are leaking oil the oil is going into the spark plug tubes replace the valve cover gaskets and plugs it should be o.k.Valve cover gasket. Known issue
