Why is this website useless?

It's not useless.

Plenty of people from all over the world donate their free time and resources to keep it updated and as many of the questions answered as possible.

What does detract from the site is the defacing/ vandalism of decent answers by people who have nothing better to do, basically spoiling it for others.

Many people cannot find the correct answer as they simply don't phrase the question correctly, misspell words in the question or use terrible grammar; they then expect an answer.

In order to answer a question, the question needs to be properly (or reasonably) formulated.

Nor do some questioners take into account that this is an international site, and ask vague questions such as:

Who was the first president?

Without being specific about the country, the answer cannot be provided.

What is 1000 Dollars in Pounds?

Here there are two issues, no date to provide a reference and a number of countries use the Pound as well as the Dollar as currency.

Y is the sky blue?

In the real world people use full words and correct grammer.

There is an old computing adage, "Junk in, Junk out" which sums up many of the "useless" issues.
