Therefore, death can more easily ensue from damage to the brainstem than damage to the frontal lobe (although trauma resulting in a frontal lobe artery hemorrhage can be fatal, as well).

The base of the brain is the area which is responsible for life sustaining functions, such as respiration and blood pressure. We obviously cannot live without those. The frontal lobe is responsible for personality traits, ones ability to organize, motivation, things like that. So in conclusion, trauma to an area of the brain responsible for primitive functions such as breathing could obviously cause death, trauma to an area of the brain responsible for personality traits, would not. (although it is not good either).
