Over 99% of the worlds water is salty. Glaciers that feed headwaters of large rivers are disappearing at an alarming rate. Ground water supplies have been over exploited to grow crops like rice and cotton which are very water hungry. We flush out toilets with potable water and pollute fresh water supplies with sewerage. Golf courses in dry or desert areas are a luxury we can't afford . We all need to treat clean water with great respect and wash the car with a bucket and not a hose.
