the coolant sensor is at the back of the motor on the passenger side
The most probable reason was because of a bad water pump or possibly a bad coolant line. But without seeing it, I couldn't tell you.
where the intake barrel is on 2000 vw gti vr6
I've heard that it blinks when coolant is low and stays on when coolant is too hot.
2000 Jetta VR6 has a timing chain, NOT a timing belt
the 2.8l vr6 engine requires approximately 4 liters of coolant, DO NOT use glycol based coolant, buy Pentosin blue or red coolant depending on your needs. Glycol based coolant WILL have harmful effects on your motor over time.
I believe that it is 9 litres. Don't put just any coolant in it, use G12 plus. And definitely DO NOT mix regular coolants with G12, it could make you very unhappy.
