Lift the hood, on the right side of the engine as you are looking at it. There is a plastic bottle that says coolant either on the cap or the bottle. It also has a fill line for cold or hot, depending when you put in the fluid. Use a 50/50 mix of coolant and water not just plain water. Unless it is an emergency and you need to get home to when you can put coolant in it.
A wire that is getting hot could be shorted to ground.
