Why is your Geo Metro stuck in park?
Back up system fuse burned out and the tranmission has a lock out for park. Try changing the fuse and looking for a short in the brake lights or turn signals.
If its from 85 then its NOT a geo metro engine. It is probably a Chevrolet Sprint engine because they only started making Geos in 88. If you need an engine for your 95 Geo then you could use one of the following: 1991 - 1995 Geo Metro engine. 1991 - 1995 Suzuki Swift Engine, and 1991 - 1995 Pontiac FireFly engine. Hope this helps :)
It depends on the year and wheel configuration of your metro. Most metros have a 4 lug 12 inch wheel design whereas the Prizm has a 4 lug 13 - 14 inch wheel base. They may fit on a Geo Metro Convertible or any Geo Metro made after 1995 because after 95 the metro had 13 inch wheels. I would check by direct comparison first.
If you are on a hill or there is torque on the wheels it could just be a stuck 'pin'. try rocking forward and back whilst trying to shift out of park.... you may have a friend help to push.... but be carefull and keep your foot on the service brake... There is also a service brake lockout device that prevents shift unless brake is depressed... If all else fails, you might have an emergancy…
