Apparently the alternator is bad or the battery is shot, take the car to autozone and get a free charging system check.
If your battery was dead and you jumped it to get it started and the gauge shows your not charging you need to replace the alternator.
The most probable cause is that the voltage regulator has failed. The regulator is an integral part of the alternator so you will probably have to replace it.
unplug battery for 20 min
Sounds to me like a bad battery- check with a battery tester. The alternator can be tested at a place like Autozone, to tell if it is charging properly. They generally do this test for free, but call first. Hope this helped.
voltage regulator.
my 91 Chevy Camaro RS V8 engine will not rotate when I turn the key the battery and the starter have been checked
14 to 14.5 volts. Same on all alternators Depending on the load and ambient temperature, the voltage should be between 13.0 and 15.1 volts. Most vehicles with good charging systems will measure between 13.8 and 14.8 volts on a warm day, depending on the battery type that the charging system was designed for. Below 13 volts have the alternator tested.
no
your starter might be going out does it click if so its your starter if not than maybe battery if not battery than its the alternator
Dead Battery. Are you sure your battery can maintain or hold a charge?
check battery and alternator
the alternator is bad, and therefore does not charge your battery. the electronic ignition needs electricity to work. I suggest u take it to a auto parts store they can check both for free. I would say a new battery and alternator/.
