"Is there a way my blackberry 8830 can change (time zones) automatically? I tried both Blackberry and Network under the time/date settings." Unfortunately, no. Globally, there are many requests for this, but currently there is no resolution for this problem.
The time on the BlackBerry is controlled by the network time AND the time zone selected. This is done primarly for one reason: the calendar.
No setting (network vs blackberry vs none) will change this. This is not a "bug", but a feature, and has no chance of being changed any time soon.
This was sent to me by a technical manager.
