If the light is still on after the repair then you did no repair the problem you just think you did. I assume you reset the light. If not reset it and see if it comes back on. If so, you have another problem. If you retrieved the code and it pointed to, as an example, a problem with the O2 sensor, that only means the O2 sensor is being effected, and not necessarily that the sensor is bad. Any code only tells you what part is being effected not necessarily the defective part. That is where skill, knowledge, training, and diagnosis comes into play.
