Locate the spark plug or plugs. They can be found by following the spark plug wire (a larger black or colored wire leading to the cylinder head). If there is more than one plug, make sure you write down or label each spark plug wire before you take it off. This is important, as on an 8 cylinder engine, you can easily forget which wire goes where. I have a 1988 Ford Broco II Bought it new. I recently had a problem with my head lights. First changed the headlight dimmer switch. Didn't work....Then put a new headlight socket on the driver's side headlight( this feeds the passenger side headlight) Didn't work...Then checked on the drivers side under the plastic cover under the hood and started checking wiring found a blown in line fuse. This was replaced. Didn't work... Then looked at the turning signal, high beam switch in the steering colum it was fried switched that and now I have head lights!!!!! Hope this helps.
