Your sight can register danger faster than the other 4 senses. This is due to the fact that the light travels faster than sound, so your ears will always be last to whatever sound you may hear. The human sense of smell is only so good, and obviously can't say much about whats around you as many smells are either easily confused or hard to identify, and in this regard sounds are also sometimes difficult to define or be investigated without sight. Touch fails to guarantee substance without seeing it (worms to spaghetti, snake to hose). Taste is particularly dangerous to use without sight or smell cause it can lead to A.) tasting a nasty substance or B.) tasting a poisonous substance. Ignoring the disadvantages of the other 4 senses, what must be considered is the dependance of the 4 on sight as being the primary reference to assure what the mind is assuming it heard, felt, tasted, or smelled is correct.
