The Apple wireless keyboard and mouse are not supplied with a standard Mac. They can be purchased separately. With the standard iMac wired keyboard and mouse the mouse can plug into the USB socket on the keyboard and they can both be tucked away under the screen to give you some desk space.

You don't usually have to turn off the "mouse and keyboard" at all. On some models of the mac, the power button was on the keyboard, but pressing it starts the computer, it doesn't turn off the keyboard. If you have a wireless keyboard/mouse, then if you don't turn them off they're still running on battery power. The batteries won't last as long if you don't shut them off, but you don't HAVE to do it.
Yes, a PC keyboard will work on a mac. If you go into system preferences and then keyboard & mouse you can change the modifier keys.

To left hand click on a mac you can change your mouse preferences. Go to System preferences, then click 'Keyboard and Mouse'. You can then change one side of the mouse to a left click like any other Windows mouse. Also you can press control while clicking which gives you options like left click on a Windows computer does.
