Why is your puppy throwing up?

When you get a puppy think of a human baby. You don't feed babies meat. Many of the dried foods out on the market for dogs/cats are highly concentrated and my bet is, it's the pup's diet. Also, dried foods make them more thirsty so it's important your pet has fresh water every single day. Puppies should be started off on a mild and good diet. If in doubt go to a well-noted pet store for advice or simply phone your vet as to the best type of food for your puppy (no charge for this.) If the vomiting continues please see your vet. As cute as your puppy may be, please don't feed them people food at this point. Like babies, puppies are growing and they just don't tolerate some foods. Everything should be prepared BEFORE bringing any new puppy (or dog) into your home for the first time.(that is going to stay, of course). Part of this preparation for me always included getting on my hands and knees and crawling around every place the dog will have access to. (same with a baby). With a puppy, pretty much consider everything you see will end up being chewed on eventually. Those growing teeth drive them crazy. As to your question about throwing up...there is always a reason. It just might be excited. Not a good idea to get a puppy fired up after feeding. The important "general rule" I have always applied is .....If a dog eats...he is usually OK. The key thing to watch is ...."Is food going in and is poop coming out?" If a dog eats and the food is vomited back out (immediately or later), and this continues for several hours/all day....it could be serious. There might be something wrapped around inside preventing food to get through. My lab (8yr old), never ate anything weird. One day ...eat/puke..eat/puke, then remained listless on floor. Finally, watching him poop...there was a orange 1" wide plastic tape hanging out the rear end, which I cut off (NEVER, NEVER Pull). After frantic investigation, figured out it was one of those cheap plastic Hawaiian Leighs from a recent party. When I found another similar one and pulled on it to figure out how long they were, I was horrified. Those things are about 30ft or longer! End result...three full days of feeding him anything he would eat, including gravey,,etc that would guarantee to get him to go, he would poop/or try,,,,,,feel perky....then wham...he would look dead on the floor again (more processing the plastic). Finally recovered...but was scarey.

he proley ate somthing when u wernt look ing that dinnt agery with his Tommy my avise don't take him to the vet he is probley just fine if it last more than a few min or hour then worry and call the vet don't wait until ur shur it wont pass but if the is done than he will be fine oh and don't let him eat it dogs do that

There are a number of things that could be causing this. Have you given it table food or changed its diet? If not, then you need to take the puppy to the vet ASAP since this could be something quite serious. It may have an illness, or it could have swallowed an object that is blocking its digestive system.

He is throwing up because there is something upsetting in his stomach. Or that he just doesn't like his food.

He might be really sick and maybe have a diease. maybe he has been stealing food from somewhere he can reach, THE KITCHEN!:( maybe you're feeding it too much!! I have no idea.
