Sometimes if they're both males they dont get along because they both want to be the dominate male but both cant. If theyre both females they fight because they dont WANT to be the dominate one. either way if theyre the same sex, get them out of one cage! they could fight & kill each other! if theyre opposite sex they should be fine, but some rabbits just like to be alone. try getting two small cages and line up the cages by each other so they can still see each other, and if they lay by the side, they can feel each others warmth. If you do this, eventually they will get comfortable with each other and you may be able to put them into the same cage again in a few months or so, but if you try it again and they act scared again, just leave them in two cages. some rabbits were just meant to be alone. Just DONT PUSH THEM to be together!
A cagemate is an animal which shares the same cage as another animal.
I would recomend at least 1 year to 2. Rabbits sometimes get into bad habbits and chew the cage. My rabbit does that and it can get very annoying. If your rabbit chews the cage then smear the sides with non-toxic rabbit deterant. My rabbit doesn't chew the cage but iisn't scared to be in there because it's only on the parts he chews! Yes, you do. Otherwise, the cage will fill up with rabbits of all sizes and ages.
A rabbit playpen would have more room for the rabbit to run around. A cage is limited in space. It's important that a rabbit get a couple of hours of exercise each day. If you have a cage, it's good to get one with a rabbit door, so the rabbit can jump in and out on its own. You can then surround the cage with a play pen, if you want.
As long as it is clean and the rabbit can fit in comfortably, why not?
Just use a large bird cage, or a rabbit cage. My rat has a rabbit cage, and she's as happy as can be. My old rat had a bird cage, and he was perfectly fine.
A rabbit's home is known as a burrow or rabbit hole. A group of burrows is called a warren. Domestic rabbits generally live in cages or hutches.
We do not recommend using a bird cage for a rabbit, as using a cage in a manner it was not designed could endanger your pet. PetProductsByRoyal.com has some great rabbit cages that may be a better fit for you and your pet.
Yes, if you put them there or leave the door open and they go in on their own.
It depends if the cage is tightly secure or not
One can purchase an indoor rabbit cage at any pet specialty store. PetSmart and Pet Valu both sell indoor rabbit cages. One can also find an indoor rabbit cage for sale on Ebay and Amazon.
Rabbits are territorial and when you put a male in a female's cage, it is her space. Therefore it's better to put the doe in the buck's cage.
