He felt that he had done Freddy the justice he deserves in the original series, and that he did not need to revisit the role in the remake. That if the movie were to be remade that someone different should fill Freddy's shoes.
Truth is that there isn't any reason he can't. He is 66 years old though so age is a factor. The reason they chose to not use Robert Englund in the remake was because they wanted to make their own identity. They chose to go with Jackie Haley which Robert was okay with.
Yes he is. Robert Englund will not be taking on the role of Freddy again. He has passed the torch.
Well i want robert back
There are no plans for another Freddy Krueger movie at the moment. The last movie was a remake and while it did well in theater it was panned by audience members afterwards. It seems like most people would not be interested in a sequel to a remake.
Freddy Kruger was a child killer, known as The SpringWood Slasher. He was sent to trial for the murders but got off on a technicality (Because of lack of a warrant). Rather than let him go free, the parents hunted him down to the boiler room/basement of the local elementary school where he used to take his victims. They burned him in the boiler room but kept his glove as a reminder. In the original films, Freddy was just a child killer, not a molester/pedophile. At first, writer/director Wes Craven planned on making him a pedophile, but after awhile he changed his mind and decided against it. This idea was resurrected -- against Craven's wishes -- in the new 2010 remake. The new remakes portray Freddy as both a molester and killer, and the school has been renamed to Bedham Preschool, where he was a groundskeeper who lived in the basement. To give you a little history on Freddy's early life... His mother was a nun (Sister Mary Helena, but later called Amanda), and worked at Our Lady Of Sorrows mental Asylum ran by the church. AFter going in to give food to the worst of the inmates, she was accidently locked in the asylum by a guard and was repeatedly rapped by 100s of crazies (Freddy is taunted as The Son Of 100 Maniacs as a young boy). Like all serial killers he was abused, neglected and enjoyed killing animals and worked his way up to killing people
It all happened because Freddy was not remembered and as a result, he became weak so he summoned Jason to do his dirty work and people eventually remembered about Freddy. However, because Jason was killing too much and "going as far as to steal" Freddy's victim, Freddy got fed up or so and decided to put Jason back to sleep but it was not easy because Jason refused and resisted so they both ended up in a fight. Jason is an Antagonist alongside Freddy but he got a little bit of Anti-Heroic personality in him due to the fact that he was being used by Freddy and he sure hated it when Freddy disguised as Pamela Voorhees, thus angering Jason and making these his reasons to fight Freddy.
Because when he drowned, his mother held the counslers personally responsible for not watching him. When she is killed after seeking revenge, he returns to go on a killing spree. He continues to kill for different opinions from people.
As of now only a remake of Nightmare on Elm Street has been made, and will be in theatres int he spring. There hasn't been any talk of remaking the entire series. There has been a reboot of Friday the 13th that came out in 2009. And there has been no talk either of a Freddy vs Jason remake, considering the Freddy vs Jason movie only came out in 2003.
The new director (annoyingly) wanted to take the movie in a new direction, away from the old films, having a new actor means completely re-imagining Freddy, including making him a darker, more evil charectar. Robert Englund has been quoted to say that he is looking forward to see what somebody else can do in the role, seen as unlike almost all other horror movies, it was always Englund as Freddy.
Gallien Krueger was created in the city of San Jose, California. This company specializes in making instrument amplifiers and is now based in Stockton, California.
