Because typically gum chewers don't dispose of gum in paper in a trash can. They tend to put gum on or under seats, desks, floors, on walls, in peoples' hair and generally all over the place. Those dark circular-like spots you see on sidewalks and parking lots, etc are all gum. It is icky and disgusting to step in it and to have to look at it and schools don't want to have to pay someone to clean gum that students discard everywhere.and teachers are just drunk when they say that.
The constant snapping and chomping also causes anxiety in a lot of people who suffer in silence as the gum chewer mindlessly and thoughtlessly chomps away without regards as to how this affects others. It is very rude to snap and chomp gum in a public setting.
-Most importantly, hygiene: it contains saliva, which can contain numerous transmissible diseases. Many people spit it out, causing it to stick to desks and floors, and can therefore attach to someone's shoe, transferring the bacteria.
Also is the fact that gum snapping and chomping is as irritating as nails on a chalkboard to many people. The sound and sight of the chomper can cause great anxiety to silent sufferers.
well that's a weird question but a lot of people ask it " why is gum not allowed in classrooms?" well i think its because students tend to stick it under the desks and its GROSS when i sometimes put my hand under my desk to move it i feel gum and its DISGUSTING!!!!
i hope that answered your question!

Mainly because it can be bad for your stomach...i guess they don't want you to damage it or anything.
And also if you for example get it stuck in your throat when playing a sport, you'll choke.
because they think its a distraction

Students should be allowed to chew gum in school!!! First of all we would nothave to stick it to the desk if we were allowed to chew gum in school because then wecould throw it in the trash without getting in trouble!
Gum was allowed in Singapore from the 2000s
Chewing gum in class may violate a school rule. If the school doesn't forbid it, an individual teacher might. Even where gum is permittrd, most likely it won't be allowed in Band, Chorus, Orchestra, Foreign Language and any Science classes with labs.

Having gum in school can help improve focus and reduce stress for some students. However, gum can also be a distraction, create a mess, and be disruptive if not disposed of properly. Ultimately, it depends on the school's policies and the impact gum chewing has on the learning environment.
