democracy
The most important barriers to the US being a democracy is the fact that We the People rarely vote for small things, and the fact that we don't vote at all. In a democracy, every decision the government makes will be voted on, and the peoples' votes will be added up and a decision will be made. Here in the US, we have offical morons who vote for us, and their votes are not effected by what We the People vote for. At least it seems like it....
democracy is the freedome to vote, run in elections, majority rule, and you get to vote.

In a democracy leaders are selected by democratic vote. Democratic vote is how leaders are selected in a democracy.
In a representative democracy, people vote for representatives to vote on specific issues on their behalf.
In a direct democracy, citizens directly vote for all decisions made by the government. In an indirect democracy, they vote for representatives who, in turn, vote for decisions.
In a democracy, the vote of the people guides the policy of the government. If the people are not informed of the truth, they cannot vote rationally. If the press is not free, the rulers determine whether the press publishes the truth or Propaganda.
Define regular democracy. A democracy is a government by the people. A direct democracy is a type of democracy.
That is generally the point of democracy, voting.
a direct democracy people vote on policies directly, a representative democracy people vote for representatives who then present a plan
