I think that your information is flawed:
There are 300+ million Americans; if half are over 18 (dating age) and take a high sounding number, 1.5 million Americans are dating out of the country, that's only 1% of dating age Americans dating out of the country.
According to the US Census Bureau, there are currently 35 million foreign born people in America. People with ties to their country of origin. A number of those would be single or have single, dating age offspring who must be included in that 1%.
So, let's look at the reality. A guesstimate of 1% of Americans, an overestimate in my opinion, which includes foreign born Americans or their offspring is a very, very, small number of Americans of dating age who date out of the country.
