Most people really want a mate to go through life with. Part of it is sexual pleasure and other parts are companionship and sharing each other's life together. There are more and more people as time rolls on that actually prefer not to have a partner. They may date on and off and seek out their sexual pleasures during this time, but, women especially don't really need men as much as they thought and I have no doubt some men feel the same way about not wanting to live with a woman. The choice is up to the individual. I have four friends who have chosen not to go out with a man on a steady basis and they don't want to live with someone or get married. They basically just want to have a friendship and escort when they go out.

Yes, of course. That is NONSENSE. Men and women are interdependent on each other. Men need women, women need men. When it comes to reproduction, women most certainly need a man around.
