In most cases a Bachelors degree is designed to be a four year program of study. However, there are some that require more time to complete depending on the program of study. For instance, in most cases a bachelors in engineering architecture is a five year program of study. This does not necessarily mean the college education must stop. There are advanced degrees at the graduate level which include the masters and doctorate levels. A masters can take an addition year to several years to complete, and a doctorate can take an addition four years to complete (after a Bachelors). Learning is a life-long process. As far as college goes, it ends when you say it ends.
