Oven shelves contract while cold. When heat is introduced, they expand (or grow larger) and can damage your oven walls.
Due to cold weather the shelves contract in size so don't fit tight
It must depend on the oven, I wonder how high those commercial ovens get. Mine's 500 F. Does that contribute to global warming?
The five things you need to clean an oven:* Powerful oven cleaner (alkaline, adhering to the oven surface and capable of removing carbon in cold action). * A Schoch-Brite pad. * A Plastic scrapper. * Paper-towel. * Two pieces of cloth
Uh...No. And neither is a toaster. An insulator is something like cardboard or reflective foil, it keeps the heat in and the cold out :)

It is important to adjust the shelves to the correct position before lighting the oven because it is safer to do so whilst the oven is cold and doing that, you would not put yourself at that much risk of getting burnt as when you are adjusting the shelves whilst the oven is hot. Whether you are doing this whilst the oven is cold or hot, still wear oven gloves! It really is common sense because if you needed to adjust the shelves but you already turned the oven on and you could feel the heat and knew the oven was really hot, you wouldn't put your hand in there to adjust the shelves anyway.

Ovens are fit loosely as they need the space for more air so they can cook quicker
It will have to cope with much greater heat in a conventional oven. However, as oven-ware it must have been fired and glazed in a kiln, where it would be subjected to greater heat than a domestic provides. If you decide to try it, use a cold oven to start and then a low heat [140C] for half an hour then cool in oven.
The oven radiated heat into the cold kitchen. The oven invited the children to the smells that came from it. Could you please turn off the oven, she asked.
It is a digital thermometer made for use in an oven. It consists of a heat resistant cord attached to a probe. The base unit that displays the temperature sits outside the oven. The oven door can be closed on the cord as long as you are careful not to tightly pinch or crimp it. The cord covering is often made from silicone.
