No, it is not a good idea, because you WILL get arrested for doing it. They can easily trace the phone call, and you will be sent to jail for misusing the 911 service.
Added: Most (all?) 9-1-1 centers in the US have the capability of tracing incoming calls back to a specific number (even cellphones) so that they can backtrace the caller should they get cut off in the middle of their call, or for some reason be unable to complete it.
Sorry to say but, people are sometimes really stupid.
Yes, it is illegal to make prank calls to 911 as it can tie up emergency lines and prevent real emergencies from receiving help in a timely manner. It is considered a waste of emergency resources and can result in criminal charges.
Other then calling 911 when nothing is going on there is no known prank number that you can call.
No you can not be called by 911 unless you called them. If you hang-up on 911 you will have an officer at your house. Some departments can trace the cell phone calls.
No but when you prank call people have to right to call the cops on you
It's annoying and potentially dangerous or damaging.
Prank calling is illegal and you may spend up to a year in prison, with a $5,000 fine. This depends on what state (Or country) you live in. Prank calling is not illegal, unless you prank call an attorney's office, a police department, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), a hospital, fire department, or 911.Given the records and the ability to determine the source of a call, charges can be filed for harassment and other tortuous acts.
Depends on which country you are in.
it depends! but mosttly will be 10 yrs!
they were taught in different languages
Give people your phone number.
If people prank call you a lot, you can dial *69 to get the number of the last person who called you. You can then report this number to your phone company and ask that it be blocked. If you are being harrased, you can contact the police.
the whole world should but not the whole world does
