Is PH3 is stronger than NH3?

Neither PH3 nor NH3 are acids. They are both bases. NH3 is the stronger base

Why does PH3 have a higher vapor pressure then NH3?

PH3 has a higher vapor pressure than NH3 because the PH3 has weaker attractive forces. Therefore, PH3 also boils lower than NH3.

What is the chemical formula for trihydrogen mononitride?

This is ammonia, NH3.

Which compound is more like an ionic compound NH3 or PH3?

No. They are covalent/molecular compounds.

Why NH3 is a liquid and PH3 is a gas?

NH3 is not liquid but gas at STP. It is however very well soluble in water, solution called ammonia.

Why is bond angle in ph3 less than that in nh3?

Both PH3 and NH3 have 3 bonding pairs and 1 lone pair of electrons around the central atom, and so are both trigonal pyramidal in shape. The bond angle in NH3 is less than 109.5º and that in PH3 is less than that in NH3 (maybe around 109º). The reason for this has to due with electronegativity. The N atom is more electronegative than the P atom and thus electron density of N's bonding electrons are closer to the N, and so they exert a greater repulsion on each other. This greater repulsion compared to that seen PH3 makes the bond angle slighter greater in NH3. P being less electronegative than N doesn't draw it's electrons as close so they don't repel as much.

How do you write phosphide containing ion?

P3- This is the phosphide ion, but it is not stable in water, only with 3H in PH3 (comparable with ammonia NH3) or with some metal ions (eg. Li3P, Ca3P2, AlP) it is found as pure substance. There are also other form with negatively charged phosphorous in it.

Which of these substances has a Lewis formula incorporating a double bond SbH3 HCl NH3 AsH3 PH3 HF CSe CS H2CO H2O?

H2co

What atom forms three covalent bonds?

The elements of V- A group of periodic table form three covalent bonds as Nitrogen forms NH3 and phosphorus forms PH3.

Why is phosphine non polar?

The shape is trigonal pyramidal Polarity is non-polar

What is the ionization potential of anhydrous ammonia?

13.4 to 14 If memory servers. Many solutions contain no water yet can have a measurement on the PH scale. Adding a fixed amount of said solution to a neutral base such as water would change the PH scale giving measurable results. I worked at a chem plant.

What is the hybridization of PH3?

The hybridization of PH3 is sp3
