A:The gun debate may be tired, but nevertheless they were guns, not Bibles, that that shot those poor little children in Newtown. Instead of just reigniting a tired debate, it is now time to do something.

A good place to start is to ban the sale of assault rifles and institute a 'buy-back' just as Australia did after the Port Arthur massacre in 1996. Australia had allowed gun ownership to become too easy, with tragic results. Athough some say the government's response did not go far enough, it has at least prevented another random massacre in the years that followed.
