it causes you to eat but not normal,it causes the body to crave minerals and instead of eating healthy your body decides to eat horrible foods like sweets, ever hurd of a choclate rush or a sugar rush? well that's what your brain and stomach are doing is having rushes for food that you cant control seroquel is not good for someone over weight if you are having these symptoms you need to talk to your doctor.
It also slows down your metabolism and decreases your thyroid hormones, drastically. The weight gain is hard and fast, within the first 12 weeks (3 months) of starting treatment.
I gained 80lbs in three months from being on seroquel, lexapro and tegretol. All the exercise in the world and dieting didn't help it. The only thing that is helping is reducing the amount of those drugs in my system.
Yes it does real quickly very quickly donβt use it if you donβt want to gain weight
fat whale people
it slows down your metabolism.
Yes, with increased appetite.
Alzheimer's commonly causes weight loss. Some medications that are used to treat Alzheimer's such as zyprexa and seroquel are know to cause weight gain.
Seroquel is definitely the weight gainer. I've been on and off Depakote before with very little weight fluctuation, however with Seroquel I had not only a huge appetite that forced me to eat more, but I put on 20lbs in 2 weeks! I was really not into Seroquel at first, but it really did help with my mania.
it is absolutely safe, I've been taking them together for years. it really helps with the huge weight gain that seroquel is known for.
I gained 40 pds in three months on seroquel. With me the weight loss began immediatly as well as my hunger pains subsiding. I have been off of it for 2 months and have lost 30 pds. I have been taking seroquel for 5 years. Initially I gained 50 pounds, but after starting a healthy eating programme and gentle excercise the pounds are starting to come off.
the pill itself doesn't make you gain weight, but the sleepyness tends to make ppl over eat
i gained about 30 pounds over six months, but i feel like i got my life back, so it was worth it. I'm not terribly active though, so i'm sure with exercise and a proper diet the weight gain would be minimal if at all.
seroquel XR (eXtender Release) can be taken just one-dose daily; usually 3 hours before bed-time without food or a light-meal. Seroquel immediate release should be taken 2 or 3 times daily. Seroquel XR reduce extrapiramidal symptoms, and common side effects like weight gain with 2-3 times administration (Max. concentration are not so high with XR version)
Tell the doctor immediately if you experience weight gain. I had this happen to me with Seroquel.
yes, after a million years of going to doctors, neurologist and pain management the only thing that has worked in the slightest has been seroquel. i don't take it every day just if i get a bad headache. it knocks you out but when you wake up you feel much better. No weight gain at all and nothing else that i can think of. it is worth a try
I've been on seroquel 100mg for the past two years and have recently decided to change to Zeldox/Geodon after gradually putting on 9kg. My Psychiatrist tells me that most people lose the weight they put on (depending on how much) quite quickly after stopping seroquel, and for the amount I put on it should take weeks rather than months. I cant really say what the case would be if someone was on a very high dose and/or put on large amount of weight, but hope that helps :)
Abilify and Geodon are the two most weight-neutral antipsychotics. Seroquel and Risperdal, while not as weight-neutral as Abilify and Geodon, are less of a problem than some other medications.
Yes you do gain weight.
