Should drug testing be allowed in high schools?

High school athletes should be drug tested because drugs will mess up your bodies and interfere with your accomplishments in sports. So in order for coaches to make sure nothing is interfering, this stop athletes from doing the wrong things and also helps you be your 100% all the time at your sport

Usually those who object to these kinds of checks the most are the worst offenders.

These random checks are not only for your safety, but for the safety of the other students and faculty. It needs to be done more often, imo.

Well it's just an opinion, but I think they should better to be safe then sorry. I don't think that drug searches should be allowed. People should just be smart enough to not bring drugs to school and having polices officers search your locker is an invasion of privacy.

Another Consideration: Generally administered drug testing to all students should NOT be considered - HOWEVER - athletes and persons voluntarily participating in high school sports SHOULD be tested.

* Yes. they should. It's all about safety. Taking out the sapling before it can become a tree. Drugs ruin the community, and gangs follow shortly after. Gangs are heavily associated with violence, and often times carry weapons. Now some people are thinking..."but in my town drugs aren't a problem, it'll only waste money" If you wait too long it'll be like L.A. and there will never be a cure. Mass fundings will go into stopping gangs and drug violence. So, yes. It provides a sweet deterrence.

Athletes should take random drug testing because if they use drugs, while playing a sport, it might be an advantage to that person.
